CST are looking for a robotic engineer, highly proficient in ROS and C++, ideally with a history of integration of ROS on a raspberry pi or similar systems. Working can be done remotely or in the office with the project spanning 5-10 hours per week for the next 6 months, with opportunities to work more hours.
The project aims to develop a proof of concept (PoC) route navigation system for a robotic vehicle. The mechanical design for the vehicle is being completed in tandem by a separate team. As such, the trial device will operate on the same protocols as the PoC allowing for a smooth conversion of the navigation system, once product development is complete.
The predicted tests include; manually driving the device around a loop and then repeating it autonomously reducing the variance. The aim is to repeat the circuit given any starting point on the route. The first stage will not include object avoidance, however, this will be included in future projects. After the project completion, there are full and part time opportunities available.
